Your first consideration in choosing to work with me likely concerns my fee's and whether I accept insurance.
If you have out-of-network benefits, you will be able to recover your payment to me, minus your co-pay. I provide you with a receipt that includes all the information you need to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I also provide flexible payment options when necessary. If you do not have out-of-network benefits your payments can be deducted from your taxes as a medical expense.
Why I do not accept insurance:
Because I am not a contracted provider to an insurance company, I am not obliged to provide information about your mental health to your insurance company. I had been uncomfortable with insurance company's requests for clinical information in order to document that a client's mental health treatment is "medically necessary." As an out-of-network provider, I am able to protect your confidentiality. However for you to receive reimbursement I must provide your insurance company with a diagnosis.
